Relay for Life
June 10-11, 2017

The Relay for Life is a Fund Raising activity of the American Cancer Society. Relays are held around the country on different dates and the programs tend to vary from site to site. The Greensburg area relay is held annually in June at the Hempfield Area High School. Weather permitting the activites take place outdoors in the Spartan Stadium and include an opening ceremony, survivors lap, caregivers lap, lumineria ceremony and a final closing ceremony on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. Throughout the event teams walk around the track building up a count of laps. Prior to the event team sponsors have solicited donations based on their anticipated lap count.

Once again participated in the Relay for Life with a walkers and a booth (ie. 'tent') where cookies and water were sold. Our walkers completed a total of 106 laps, while various members took turns manning our booth throughout the day on Saturday.
